Education Programs

EARLY CHILDHOOD

The Early Childhood Education program covers the education of children from birth through grade 3 and leads to a teaching certification. This degree requires a minimum of 120 total credit hours to graduate.

ELEMENTARY

Elementary Education program covers the education of children from grade 1 through grade 6 and leads to teaching certification. This degree requires a minimum of 120 total credit hours to graduate.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School Education program covers the education of children from grade 5 through grade 9 and leads to teaching certification. This degree requires a minimum of 120 total credit hours to graduate.

Secondary

The Secondary Education program covers the education of children from grade 9 through grade 12 and leads to a teaching certification. This degree requires a minimum of 120 total credit hours to graduate.

Adult

Park University’s adult and organizational learning program draws on a range of disciplines, including education, business and information technology, and are taught by faculty who are leaders and current practitioners in the field.

K-12 Education

Fine Arts

In concert with the School for Education and the Department of Arts and Communication, students may become certified to teach art K-12 with the BSE major.

Spanish

In concert with the School for Education and the School for Arts and Humanities, students may become certified to teach Spanish K-12 with the BSE major.

AND HEALTH SCIENCES

Behavioral & Health Sciences

Nursing

Park University offers respected nursing programs in Kansas City, including a BS in nursing and a RN to BSN degree completion program. Our accredited nursing programs and relationships with hospitals and medical facilities provide nurses with valuable opportunities.

Social Work

The Bachelors program prepares students for beginning professional social work practice in a wide variety of human service and treatment settings. Masters and Minor in Social Work programs are available.

Psychology

Psychology is a broad discipline that deals with behavior and mental process. Career opportunities in this field include counseling, business, research and development, advertising, college teaching, medical, criminal justice, and government.

Sociology

Sociology is the study of people in groups, their interactions, identities, and the societies, institutions, and cultures they create. As a social science, it combines the scientific and humanistic perspectives to study the full range of human experience.

Social Psychology

Social Psychology blends the strengths of psychology and sociology. It studies the “person in the situation,” and integrates knowledge about individual, group, and organizational processes.

Research & Training

CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND TRAINING IN INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

The Center for Research and Training in Integrated Behavioral Health develops and offers a series of workshops/seminars for professional social workers and other related professions that will provide them with the required continuing education credits (CEU’s) to maintain professional licensure. The Center will work directly with the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Boards in Kansas and Missouri and the office of Continuing Education at Park University.
